Besides collaborating with governments, defence companies and encouraging civil society to engage in defence sector monitoring, Transparency International UK also works in cooperation with international bodies.
NATO Transparency International UK has successfully collaborated with NATO on a new Building Integrity and Reducing Corruption Risk’ programme, which focuses on the development of practical tools for implementation in defence institutions. More about our work with NATO can be found here
World Bank The Transparency International defence programme is also engaged with the World Bank on tools for enhancing transparency of the defence sector. More on this shortly.
EU and United Nations - Arms Export control Export control mechanisms need to take account of the high risk of corrupt interests seeking to evade the arms controls framework. Transparency International UK is cooperating with other civil society organisations in order to encourage the inclusion of anti-corruption provisions in the proposed United Nations International Arms trade Treaty (IATT), and has also submitted recommendations for strengthening of the EU Code of Conduct.
